Up Next: Summer Show Season with Maneline: Horses, Heat, the Airstream Life

There’s something about summer horse shows. Maybe it’s the long days spent ringside, the early mornings with dew on the arena, or the fact that half our lives seem to be packed in the Maneline Airstream.

Whatever it is, we wouldn’t trade it.

This summer, we’re hitting the road and bringing Maneline to two of our favorite events—with gear in the trailer, bourbon in the cooler, and our family right in the thick of it.

📍 Split Rock Jumping Tour – Kentucky Horse Park | June 4–22

This is one of our favorite stops—beautiful Kentucky weather, a world-class venue, and for many riders, the chance to compete in the iconic Rolex Arena is a dream come true.

We camp at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground, which makes attending the show super convenient. We cruise to and from the ring in our golf cart, and during downtime, enjoy the quiet beauty of the grounds. If you’re there the same weekend, don’t miss the Kentucky Bluegrass Festival—a fun, casual evening with live music and food trucks just steps from the barn.

Off the show grounds, we like to make the most of being in bourbon country. Our go-to stops on the Bourbon Trail include:

  • Buffalo Trace

  • Woodford Reserve

  • Willet

  • Heaven Hill

  • And the under-the-radar gem: Glenns Creek

We also take full advantage of the food scene in Lexington and Georgetown, where it’s easy to find a great steak, a cold drink, and some A/C after a long day at the show.

The Maneline Airstream will be parked on site—come by, check out our summer gear, cool off for a bit, and say hi.

📍 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival – Traverse City, MI | July 2–20

We’ll be celebrating a lot at this one—my birthday is July 2, so stop by the Airstream and raise a glass with us. GLEF is a fantastic show with big Grand Prix action, gorgeous rings, and the kind of northern summer weather that feels like a reward for surviving all those early mornings in June.

We stay at Timber Ridge RV and Recreation Resort, just a short drive from the show. It’s the perfect mix of quiet and convenience—and our go-to base camp during the Traverse weeks.

When we’re not ringside, we soak in everything Traverse City has to offer:

  • Evenings at the beach along Lake Michigan, campfires, drinks, and some much-needed downtime

  • The Traverse City Cherry Festival, complete with concerts, a carnival, and all the fair food you can handle

  • Golf days up at Boyne Mountain Resort, about an hour north—worth every minute for world-class courses and views

  • And if we have a full day to explore, a day trip to Mackinac Island always delivers—horse-drawn carriages, no cars, and unbeatable summer charm

If you’re walking the grounds or cruising by on a golf cart, keep an eye out for the Maneline Airstream—we’ll be there with gear, good conversation, and probably something cold in the cooler.

Your Summer, Our Style

This is the life we built Maneline for—the packed trailers, the sunrise rides, the muddy boots, the dads on standby with horse treats and camera phones, and the evenings around the grill swapping stories with barn friends.

Whether you’re hauling horses, holding horses, or just trying to not get trampled by the schedule, Maneline is made for the moments in between—clothes that work as hard as you do and still clean up nice for dinner.

See you in Kentucky. See you in Michigan. And most importantly, see you out there living it.
